Dr. K.M. George is a distinguished expert in Micro Finance and Monitoring & Evaluation of rural development interventions. He has held significant positions, including serving as a Team Leader for the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations.

Throughout his extensive career spanning nearly 45 years, Dr. George has collaborated with various national and international agencies, non-governmental organizations, and national institutions in diverse development capacities. His areas of specialization encompass Monitoring, Evaluation, Socio-Economic Studies & Surveys, Benchmark Surveys, Women Empowerment Studies, Micro Finance, Rapid Impact Evaluation, Poverty Reduction Studies & Surveys, and studies on the impact of the United Nations’ Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). Notably, he has completed over 55 mid-term evaluations for banks, governments, and UN agencies both in India and abroad.

Dr. George is also the President of the Sustainable Development Forum (SDF), established in 1998 as the River View Discussion Forum, focusing on sustainable development themes. In 2023, aligning with the International Year of Millets, the forum expanded to include the Global Millets Foundation (GMF), reflecting a commitment to promoting millets as a sustainable food source.
